Prees Club Run: Julian's last one. 14th October 2007
Where's Ric, again? Where's Ric?

On another bright and sunny day the 2nd of the Stockport clubruns got underway. The decision was taken to cut the miles down but do non stop as 4 out of the 5 had to get back to (work, cook meal, sleep, pack for Italy, (no names). With no sign of Will at the start the 5 headed off towards the Cheshire lanes. Once in Alderley Edge Ric decided it was Press or bust so headed off on his own into the local hills leaving the same 4 that made it to Elton the week before. With barely a wind blowing the speed kept steady at about 18/19 average. Without planning the route the 4 crossed through the Cheshire lanes and at the furthest point were only 10 miles from Prees (purely luck, no skill involved). On the return leg home someone though they had spotted Ric but it was not to be (see attached pic below).  With still the added benefit of no wind the clubrun picked up pace and started for home heading back through Worleston and Middlewich. The speed was quite high at this point and a steady line of through and off soon took hold at a quick (but controlled) 24 mph. Once in Middlewich a petrol station stop was required to top up on drinks and Mars bars (Or in Si’s case a Pastie).  Once again Si covered the most miles just short of 80 (not bad for a non stop ride at 19 average). Yet again there was a casualty of cramp and yet again it was Darren. The poor lad just started with the onset of a few twinges of cramp but luckily he was only a few miles from home so made it home safely. In the final few miles before Wilmslow the pace eased to say a final farewell to Jules and wish him good luck in Italy. Arrivederci………Adios………..Auf Wiedersehen…………..
Au Revoir…………...Toodle-oooooo,
