New Years Day 10 Mile Time Trial

large product photo   WIND CHILL FACTOR NOT A FACTOR AS NOBODY WENT FAST ENOUGH

It seems the last few New Years Day 10 mile time trials are always bitterly cold. This year was no exception with temperature at -3.

With sickness taking its toll on people numbers were down on last year. Dunc who had a cold decided to do the time keeping, helped by Ric, Nick and Alex. The only 3 riders we had were all from Stockport. We usually have a few other club riders but nobody else was keen (daft) enough to make it outdoors. Once the signing on had taken place during a few snow showers the 2 riders we had set off for the start. As usual it was 11.02 when Will rolled around the corner on a full TT bike having just driven to Alderley Edge and ridden the few miles to Chelford. His New Years resolution must have been "Don't turn up on time", same as every other year then.

This years race was won by Will with 28.39 As you can see from the picture it was one of the coldest NYD 10’s we have had. Even the added bonus of a hot cup of tea and mince pie did not warm anyone up.

RESULTS

Will Sanderson SCCC 28.39
Dan Moores SCCC 29.12
Paul Wilson SCCC 32.53
Ric Brown SCCC DNS (Apol)
