Peaslows Hill Climb
 
 

To keep things simple, Peaslows hill climb near Chapel-en-le-Frith will be the reference. It's local, it's 1 mile long (helps with remembering how many climbs you've done) and at just over 500 feet of climbing and takes about 10 minutes on a first attempt. Subsequent efforts may be slower

From experience, it's best to park your car at the top of the hill:
- psychologically, it's hard to start another climb when your car is parked next to you
- a car boot makes an excellent store for all your drinks and gels, you've got a place to rest straight after the climb
- Peaslows has plenty of space at the top for your car.

Bike choice: light carbon road bike or MTB with road tyres? Those lower gears and decent brakes must be of some benefit.
